You could pack Bettas and other labyrinth fish that way. standard procedure to for non air breathers is to to go a pet shop or Dive Shop where they have oxygen and pack them in plastic bags of oxygen so they can last at least a day. this is routinely done by divers bringing live things from Hawaii to the mainland.
