If an asteroid of this magnitude hits earth, how do you think it might affect the future?

I am almost positive that an asteroid of that magnitude would cause the Earth to cease to exist. If an asteroid only a few miles across can potentially wipe out entire cities and their surrounding area, one taht size could easily the Earth's crust and cause ireprehensible damage to the Earth's core and destroy the planet.
