What's the best way to thaw frozen rats?

I have a two year old Ball Python I've had for about 4 months now. I didn't have money at the time to get her frozen food and she's been eating live. I'm aware of different ways to wean her, but whats the best way to thaw a small rat? My Boa's fuzzies are easy, as they thaw quickly at room temp and I can heat them up with a blow dryer for extra heat. I'd appreciate anything anyone has to offer, and I know to NEVER put anything in the microwave.
