What is the best way to sell expensive used items?

I am trying to sell my canon camera (body only, no lenses) and some old authentic Ugg boots. I have used ebay to buy, but not to sell. My friend sells items similar to these on ebay, but says that she is not sure how profitable it really is. Other sites/ways you would recommend and why? Thanks!
